An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure they say, and this addage can be applied to doing your research before bringing home a breed that is not appropriate for your living situation.
For example if you wanted an English Mastiff or a Great Dane but you lived in a one bedroom apartment, would this be a good idea? Definitely not, but a little Maltese would be perfect! On the other hand, if you have your heart set on a Labrador Retriever and you have a yard and love to walk and exercise, then perfect!
