TweetHow To Sing – Discover How To Sing Better
While becoming a better singing does include vocal exercises, learning how to sing is much more than repeating the same boring voice exercise scales all day everyday. And becoming a better singer is definitely possible without the painful embarrassment of singing in front of a class or the bore of tradition lessons. Improving your singing voice really involves three things:
- Learning HOW To Sing (The knowledge part)
- Vocal Warm Ups (The maximizing part)
- Vocal Strengthening Exercises (The improving part)
Learning HOW To Sing (The knowledge part)
Learning how to sing begins with just that, learning—knowledge. There are tips and tricks that will help you go farther, faster before you even sing a peep, things that you first must know about singing, including, but is not limited to, information about the voice and how it works.
Many things effect the way you sing that may seem unrelated to singing itself, but if you know these things, you can improve your singing quickly just by implementing the knowledge. In fact, depending on how you look at it, the knowledge part is the most important, because knowing the right information can improve your singing tremendously without taking all the time to do the work of singing, which involves two different types of exercises. I’ll say more about that in the next two sections. Again, with the knowledge part, all you have to do is learn and immediately apply.
I would go so far as to say that the knowledge part is 50% of becoming the singer you want to be. And you don’t have to pay a vocal instructor an obscene amount of money to learn these things either. Of course, good, correct information is hard to come by, so that is why I put this site together, compiling the best of the best tips and tricks to help you learn quickly, the right way the first time.
Practicing How To Sing Better (The practical part)
Vocal Warm Ups (The maximizing part)
Second is vocal warm ups. And the reason I call this the maximizing part is because the primary function of vocal warm ups, besides waking up and warming up your voice, is maximizing the voice you currently have. That’s not to say that you are going to have a different voice later, but that you will have a different range, better tone, be able to hit higher notes and have better pitch after some time of doing your advanced vocal exercises. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
Vocal warm ups will protect your voice from strain and harm and maximize your current singing ability, at your current level of singing. And that’s a great thing, extremely valuable! But vocal warm ups are not designed to increase your range, help you sing higher notes or, necessarily, give you a more powerful voice. They take what you have now and make sure you can do your best with it. And that is where vocal strengthening exercises come in.
Some people never breakout of their current potential because they continue doing only warm ups and never cross over into doing vocal strengthening exercises.
Vocal Strengthening Exercises (The improving part)
Now, I call this the improving part, because these are the exercises that are going to give you the breakthrough in your voice that you’re really looking for. This is where you will break out of the box of your current potential and begin really improving. These are the exercises that are created to extend your range, smooth out the transitions between your different registers (eliminating the cracks and breaks in your voice), improve your tone and make you an overall better singer than you currently are. Vocal strengthening exercises open up a new realm of potential for you, pushing you beyond what you were previously...
