Phone Detective Scam
Phone Detective is a scam. Do NOT waste your money with this site. I punched in the area code and phone number I was searching, and after paying $15.90 Cndn, the listing came up as only the City Name. I already knew the city name from the number!!!

Wish I had seen your post earlier. This is a scam, they hooked me on the annual membership for $39.95. Any recourse here?

Paid $40 for one year membership. Still gives only city and makes you pay $7.95 for each "tracer report" after that if you want to know who the caller is. Very misleading.

Reverse Phone Detective
I have had almost no success locating information on this site. Everything requires a tracer report for an additional fee of 9.95. They used to have a good service a number of years ago, but this now seems to be a scam.
Rip-off!
This site is nothing but a rip off. All it does is an internet scan. I did more work from my own desk than what I supposedly paid for. I am STILL waiting for my refund.

This website is a scam. You pay $39.95 for a one-year subscription, and they tell you that you have an unlimited number of phone looks-ups. However, every time that you enter a number, they want to charge you an additional $7.95 for a "tracer report." It is a rip-off.

I entered the number and they said they had the name and address etc of the number available, after I paid, it said 'number not found.' I'm disputing the charge on my CC> Theft by deception.

99 out of 100 numbers come up unlisted. Then it says that you can get the actual information if you pay a bunch for a "tracer report". Most of the tracer reports don't give you enough to make any real determination of who the number actually belongs to. Just to test them I started entering phone numbers that I KNOW are BUSINESS numbers that are listed EVERYWHERE and they still came up as "unlisted" and said that I should buy a tracer reprt to get the info. I'm talking about places like Hair salons, Insurance agencies, and other places that put their phone numbers ion billboards and stuff. Is that "unlisted"? I did talk them into refunding my money for one tracer report that only provided the person's initials and the state whenre the cell phone service was in, but the service itself is basically worthless.I've learned that the best thing to do if you are trying to find out who owns a number is to call it from a pay phone or a buddy's cell phone and act innocent and you can usually get people to tell you their names and stuff....
