4 years ago I was like you. I had recently become single again (not by my own choosing) and I craved female company. When I look back, I’m not sure whether I wanted something long-term, a casual ‘friend’, or just a quick fix. To be honest I think any one of those options would have done!
And so I soon found myself entering the online dating arena. I wrote myself a bog standard profile and quickly became another ‘Joe Nobody’ lost in the search results with a million other stereotyped hopefuls.
I was on 3 different websites, paying in excess of £50 a month! That’s £600 a year! Not an unsubstantial amount by any means.
Whilst I would occasionally get the odd girl who would reply to my email (usually out of politeness), the successes were few and far between.
It was almost worse than being rejected in the flesh. Here I was actively promoting myself to single women and still bombing out! It was depressing, distressing, demoralising and generally soul destroying.
I was ready to quit many times and resign myself to the old adage that ‘It’ll happen when it happens’. Well guess what buddy… that adage is a crock of bull! If you want anything in life, the only real way to have it is to go out there and get it!
What Women Want !!
I knew in my heart of hearts that online dating could work. There are millions of women on these websites who are looking for guys who want exactly the same as them. That’s right! Some really do have no further interest beyond a one night stand, some are ready for nothing more than a casual fling, and others want to get married and have your babies!

Now, whilst us guys are pretty shallow when it comes to the looks department, women (fortunately) are completely different. I refined & tested, refined & tested and refined & tested my profile time & time again until I struck gold!!! I wrote a profile which appealed to just about every woman who read it, and more importantly I understood WHY!!!
And so I started the dating game… the LIVE dating… and came crashing back down to earth like a poorly aimed SCUD missile!
Whilst I’m not a shy guy, I was horrendously nervous about dating. I had no idea about etiquette, what to talk about or how to generally conduct myself on a first date. The result of which usually meant that I didn’t get a second date. I was doing EVERYTHING wrong.

I eventually met my current girlfriend through online dating and whilst we’ve only been together for 9 months (at the time of writing this) I sincerely believe she’s the one.
