When I went down to the Bahamas to look for real estate, I thought I knew everything I needed to know. After all, I had been in the business for over 20 years. I started researching real estate in the Bahamas. I spent many hours on the internet, spoke to other Americans who had bought property there, and grilled the local real estate agents. I flew to the islands and looked at land. Soon I was making offers. It was a lot of work preparing to invest in the Bahamas. And you know what? In spite of all my efforts and experience, I still made costly mistakes. Why? Because I didn’t realize how much I still didn’t know.
