The reason it happens ALL THE TIME is because we're trying to get some information from the other side. The only way we know to gather information is asking questions. So we're asking a lot of questions on the first times we're meeting.

The problem with that is that it's REALLY offending when a lot of questions are being asked. It puts a normal person into defensive state of mind. Besides, most of the above questions are BORING.

Let me share a secret with you... There is another way to gather information from the other side. The secret here is to ask OPEN & INTERESTING questions. For example, how about asking What's important for you?, did you ever asked it a guy? Look how open this question is... What would you answer to that question?

Another good question to ask is What's the most interesting thing you have done in your life? Know what? List 5 things! Can you see how different this question from the questions you ask. You'll actually be interested in the answer to that question.

The last mini-tactic I'll share with you about being interesting and not going to the "Job Interview" state is making statements instead of asking questions. Let's say your original question was "Where do you live?", how about making a statement like "Judging by the hair, you look to me like a guy from Queens...". Try it, and you'll see miracles happen...

The first thing you'll notice about making statements instead of asking questions is that you are a way better guesser than you thought. When I started using this technique some guys went crazy and thought that I'm some kind of a prophet.

The other thing is, even if you're wrong, your date will open up his mouth and will start singing everything about the topic of the statement you just made. Isn't it genius?

Conclusion: Be interesting in your conversations. Attacking with questions is not being interesting...
